M&A Associate
Vitec Software Group is a leading provider of business-critical software for vertical markets and is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm Large Cap. We grow both through the development of our business units and through acquisitions, which is an important part of the Group’s success.
We are now looking to strengthen our M&A team with a colleague who wants to develop within acquisitions and business analysis.
Because we acquire companies to keep them within the Group, it’s essential that we share fundamental values, business models and strategies. We therefore place great importance on building relationships and getting to know the people behind the companies before making any acquisition decisions. If you appreciate that approach, this could be the right opportunity for you.
Our well-considered long-term acquisitions make it possible for small and medium-sized software companies to continue developing. With great respect for each company’s unique industry knowledge and need for independence, we provide long-term stability, shared expertise, experience and common resources.
About the role
As an M&A Associate, you will step into a central role and contribute directly to Vitec’s future growth. You will have a varied working day, taking part in every stage of the acquisition process – from identifying potential targets, analysis and negotiations, to due diligence, completion and handover to the operational business.
You will work across a broad network of contacts and gain insight into various industries and markets. Your primary focus will be in one or several of the regions Nordics, Benelux, DACH and Poland.
What we offer
As you join our tight team, you’ll receive a thorough introduction. We then work together to help you grow into your role. In the role you will interact with our senior executives throughout the organization.
At Vitec, we combine a long-term perspective with a decentralized structure, giving you both stability and the opportunity to grow.
You will:
Build a strong foundation within M&A and business analysis
Develop your commercial understanding and communication skills
Gain exposure to a wide variety of companies and industries
Be part of a team that values collaboration, trust and continuous learning
If you are looking for a role where you can learn, take responsibility, and grow over time, we believe you will thrive with us.
Who you are
To succeed in the role, you have a relevant academic master’s degree – for example, in one or several of the fields engineering, management, finance or business administration. You have recently graduated and/or have up to 2 years of relevant work experience. This may include experience gained through internships, part-time roles, or early-career positions within consulting, finance, or a related field. Experience from software companies is an advantage.
We believe that you:
Have a genuine interest in business, strategy and acquisitions
Are analytical and comfortable working with financial information
Communicate clearly and build trust with ease
Are proactive, structured and persistent
Enjoy combining hands-on work with collaboration
You are fluent in English (required), and Swedish is preferred. Additional language skills—particularly Polish or Dutch—are considered an advantage.
As an M&A Associate, you’ll need both drive and patience, as well as the ability to communicate with attentiveness and clarity. We value a focus on quality, respect and humility – qualities that are important both within Vitec and in our cooperation with other companies. If this sounds like you, we think you’ll feel at home with us.
